David Metzler, a math teacher, gives an excellent explanation on the difference between the *total and partial derivative of a function* (see video below). Telling us about a bug walking on hot plate is just ingenious. I admire people that come up with a creative interpretation.

## Time Management

Posted by Ed on November 6, 2010

You probably know this situation: “I’ve got to clean the house, go to the supermarket, do my homework, check my e-mails, wash the laundry, etc.” The problem is we only have 24 hours a day. So we need some way to organize the tasks and set priorities:

– Randy Pausch gave an interesting lecture on time management. Below are two short clips that summarize the original lecture: First clip (4 minutes), second clip (5 minutes)

For me, the most important tip he gave was to ask yourself: “Why am I doing this? What happens if I chose not to do it?”

– Darryl Cross talks about Covey’s quadrant that illustrates how important it is to prioritize.
